Storyboard Text

  • Hello my name is Amaroo and I have just recently turned 13 years old. which means I am finally ready to go on my first vision quest. and see and find my own spirit helper/animal. But before I begin. I must first meet my shaman Apari. He will guide me and tell me what to do in order to have a successful vision quest in finding my spirit animal
  • After my encounter with Apari I needed to choose a location that was very sacred and special to me . To go and reflect on the message Apari gave to me. And also to thank the Creator. to prepare myself to be purified and renewed. Which is why I choose a cave used for Sweat lodges.
  • Before I was able to enter the sweat lodge. I had to do one of the most important parts of the quest which was fasting and going without food and water. And most importantly praying to the Creator and thank him for all creation. To purify my mind and body to prepare for my spirit helper to come.
  • After several hours of fasting, praying, and spending time in the sweat lodge. I  got a vision. A vision of a Giant grey wolf standing behind a bright orange sunset. After finally seeing my spirit animal. I can now receive insights about my future role and my new name
  • When I finally returned home. I explained to my elder everything I saw in my vision in great detail. After explaining everything about my vision quest my elder. Gave me great wisdom and advice and insight about what my vision meant and my new name.
  • My elder told me that what I saw was significant and very important to Aboriginal Spirtuality. The wolf was a sign of Power and Trust in others. And that a sunset represents a long journey. The elder also gave me my new name which was Maengun-Adoni. Because Maengun means wolf and Adoni means sunset.
