In the early 1480s, there was a trader named Christopher Columbus. One day, he and his brother thought that they could get rich by finding a quicker route to Asia by going to the west. Over years, they both persuaded wealthy investors until they were able to persuade King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. The deal was that they gave him title to be governor of any land he discovered, and 10% share of all the riches he grabs

He set off, and once he saw land, he thought he reached Asia, though he actually reached America. He didn't know because America wasn't mapped yet.
I shall sail west and reach Asia
When he walked on the land, he saw Native Americans and knew that he reached Asia. They were friendly, but he made them slaves and they had to work for him. He also went to another place called Hispaniola and kidnapped a tribe called the Arawak. This event, known as the Colombian Exchange, had negative effects and they are still being felt today
