  • The king who owned the fleece would give Jason the fleece if he completed the task "to yoke two bulls he had, whose feet were of bronze and whose breath was flaming fire, and with them plow a field. Then the teeth of a dragon must be cast... which would spring up at once into a crop of armed men" (Hamilton 129).
  • Event Nine
  • With the help of Medea, a maiden with powerful magic who was forced to fall in love with Jason through Cupid's arrows, he completed the tasks. He also escaped when "the King went back to the palace planning treachery... vowing they should never have the Golden Fleece" (Hamilton 131).

  • 
  • Medea helped once again, "she brought about the death of Pelias by a cunning trick" (Hamilton 132). This is because he had killed Jason's parents. Medea and Jason had two sons together, but Jason marries another woman for more power.
  • Medea escapes after killing Jason's new wife and their sons, who were used for the wife's murder, while Jason "cursed her, never himself, for what had come to pass" (Hamilton 135). Before betraying Medea, there was no reason to consider that her may be the villain and Medea, the victim.
