  • Claim: Shells are not alive.
  • Evidence and reasoning: Shells can not reproduce all though shells used have have a living animal in them shells them shells have no was of creating new shells.
  • Evidence and reasoning: Shells are an exoskeleton for certain animals but they are not mad out of cells. Having cells is a main part of being alive and shells do not have cells.
  • Evidence and reasoning: Shells do not have a way to eat and as something lives it needs a way to have energy to maintain life. Shells also can not breath and when you are alive you need oxygen.
  • Paragraph: although shells are definitely not man mad they are still not alive we know this because they are made up of cells they can not reproduce and shells have no way to reproduce or have food.
