Storyboard Text

  • Alas! Tis not the Earth at the center of the universe, but the sun! I shall call my theory Heliocentrism!
  • Enough! For arguing against the beliefs of our church, I hereby sentence you to house arrest  for the rest of your life!
  • I'm telling you! My observations show that Heliocentrism is the correct theory!
  • I have discovered what I shall call gravity! I will create a law that states this; A particle attracts every other particle in the universe using a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.
  • Copernicus is questioning Ptolemy's theory of Geocentrism with his own theory of Heliocentrism.
  • What is a way that people can find proof using reason?...
  • Aha! The Scientific Method! All one must do is start with a question, form a hypothesis and test said hypothesis through experimentation. Then analyze your data and draw a conclusion!
  • Galileo is going against his own former beliefs and arguing against the Roman Catholic church that Heliocentrism is the correct theory and that Geocentrism is wrong. However, the Catholic Church will not tolerate him and sentence him to house arrest for the rest of his life.
  • We will no longer tolerate this rubbish from these scientists. From here, forward anyone who questions the church and it's beliefs will be sentenced to house arrest, excommunication, or torture.
  • Issac Newton contributed a lot to the Scientific Revolution including his laws of gravity and motion and his discovery of the composition of light. He also discovered that the world was round, not flat, and he built the first reflective telescope.
  • Francis Bacon created the Scientific method. A way to prove a hypothesis or find proof using reason and justifiable knowlwdge.
  • The Roman Catholic church was sick and tired of scientists going against the beliefs of the church so they began to fight back by punishing people who argued different theories other than the church's.
