Orpheus is a poet, and a musician in Greece. He is brave, loyal and determined. He is the king of Thrace and is married to his wife Eurydice.
Call to Adventure
A man named Aristeus chased Eurydice into the woods and she stepped on a nest of sleeping snakes. She was bit so many times that she was dead before she hit the ground. Her soul was taken by Hermes and Orpheus was determined to get her back, because he wanted to see how beautiful she was.
Refusal of the call
He was not reluctant to his call to adventure because he wanted to save his wife.
Meeting with the Mentor
He did not have a mentor, but he had a lyre that he used to play music on. It made everyone and everything stop and listen.
He crosses the river Styx and passed through the gates of the underworld which stood the Cerberus. He took out his lyre and started to play a dog song putting the Cerberus to sleep.
Crossing the Threshold
Tests, Allies, Enemies
He had to convince Hades to give Eurydice back. Orpheus did not have any allies. He also didn't have to fight anything but he had to keep a promise from Hades and if he didn't his wife would vanish.
