Storyboard Text

  • Hey Lena! Have you ever heard about how important the Daughters of Liberty in the Revolutionary War were?
  • Actually, I have! One of the women was named Molly Pitcher! Do you know of her?
  • Yes, I believe so! Isn't she the one who carried the pitchers of water onto the battlefield for the soldiers? That extremely hot day?
  • Yes, that is Molly Pitcher. That is how she got Pitcher as part of her name! Intresting right?
  • Totally Lena! What else do you know about Molly Pitcher? DIdn't she take her husbands spot at the cannon?
  • Yes! Her husband fell to the ground that same hot day. After she knew that her husband was ok, she took over his job! They won that battle!
  • Wow! The women in the Revolutionary War had huge roles! They included nurses and seamstresses.
  • Also cooks, maids, soldiers, and spies. Sounds like they were such a big help to the soldiers.
  • That's so awesome! I wonder what it was like back then being a women in the Revolutionary War, helping out.
  • I know right! They probably felt that all they wanted to do is to have freedom and that they would do anything to help out.
  •  I agree! Well Lena, I better get going! I'll see you tomorrow in school!
  • Bye Serena! See you tomorrow!
