Collaboration is a vital skill of the 4c's of Common Core. Students mastery of this vital skill in the classroom i. many different ways is very vital to their educational career.

  • As an educator in the 21st century, collaboration is a skill that I will implement with my students in my curriculum with the use of digital tools and peer discussion. The mastery of this 4c's skill will benefit my students in their educational career and field.
  • Collaboration discussions as a whole classroom where we share ideas and thoughts as a group.
  • Todays discussion is on pros and cons of school uniforms for students in middle school.
  • Utilizing digital tools like Google Docs, Wikis, and Twiddla, students can collaborate to create essays, research papers and written material. Students can also share and edit each others written material by collaborating through the use of individual chrome books in the classroom.
  • Collaboration discussions in small groups of three or four students. Ideas and thoughts are shared through discussion from all members.
  • What does it mean to you be a digital citizen in the 21st century? How does that apply to the classroom?
  • With the utilization of digital tools like Powtoon, Google Slides and MindMeister, students will collaborate to create digital presentations with peers or groups on research assignments or assigned subjects. Collabrating with fellow peers on creation of presentations, students display their comprehension of the curriculum or assignment.

  • As we have seen, collaboration is a vital c of the 4c's of the Common Core that can be implemented in many different ways and promote the remaining c's in the classroom.

  • Students collaborate in a whole class discussion with their teacher as they utilize digital tool and technology during discussion. In the process of collaborating in discussion, we record our thoughts with the aid of a T-chart or Venn Diagram chart. Discussion is ended with an Exit ticket for all students to further evaluate and improve discussions.
  • Students collaborate in small groups by discussing the topic and equally providing ideas and feedback to one another. As groups collaborate in discussion, my role is more of an observer and facilitator posing questions when needed by individual groups.
  • Collaboration can be utilized in the classroom in many different ways as we have seen. How will you utilize Collaboration in your classroom?
