In Athens, there once lived four young lovers; Lysander who loved Hermia, Hermia who was also in love with Lysander, Demetrius who loved Hermia and Helena who loved Demetrius.
Hermia's father wanted her to marry Demetrius but she did not love him; she and Lysander agreed to meet each other outside the city and run away into the forest.
Hermia and Lysnader ran as far as they could to get away from the city but they didn't know that Demetrius was following them; he only knew because Helena had told him.
Meanwhile, the fairy king (Oberon) and his queen (Titania) were having an argument about who should have their son and he decided to go with his mother.
King Oberon and his henchman, Puck, could hear Helena begging Demetrius to take notice of her but he just ignored her. Oberon wanted this man to do what the woman said so he and his henchman found a flower that would make them fall in love with first person they saw after waking up.
So when the Athenians went to sleep, Puck and Oberon sneaked over to them and put the flower in Demetrius' and Lysander's eyes. When they both woke up they were looking to Helena so they instantly fell in love with her but Oberon realised that he shouldn't have given Lysander the flower. Oberon gave Lysander the antidote and he fell back in love with Hermia and they all got married to the person they were truly in love with and Oberon and his queen were back together.
