Is that June?
How'd she get up there so quickly?
The soldiers of the Republic are marking red X's on families doors that have the plague. The soldiers put a red X with a vertical line through it on Day's family's door. That symbol hasn't been seen before. Day and Tess are watching from an abandoned building.
June is the top of her class both intelligently and physically. So she is able to climb 14 stories of a skyscraper in 6 minutes and 44 seconds. June scored a 1500 which is a perfect on the trails. Shes also a senior in college at the age of 15.
June is getting suspended for going off school premises. Mrs. Whitaker starts to question Metias' parenting skills although he is a high ranked soldier and Junes oldest brother. When Metias picked her up, the girls were fawning over him. Mrs. Whitaker's tone changed and she started respecting Metias.
Metias tries to be the best parent he can be since their parents are dead. He is the only family June has. He first yells at June, reminding her why what she did is wrong and she can not continue to have behavior like this. Then his big brother instincts condemn her for doing so well and setting a record. At this time the soldier driving (Thomas) disagrees with Metias parenting skills.
Day acted as a poor man that was hurt in order to get into the hospital. He needing to steal the cure for the plague because he believes that mark on their door means his family has the plague. When he broke into the laboratory he discovered that the Dr's didn't have the plague cure, they only had supplements. When escaping Day was shot and had an encounter with Metias. He was not fast enough to outrun Metias so he threw his knife at his soldier.
June was told that Metias was dead. When she arrived at the scene she was told that this was her first tracking case. She had to find her brother's killer (Day). She started by examining the crime scene and explaining to Commander Jameson exactly what had happened by the evidence she gathered. Now finding Day is personal to her.
