Somalia is in desperate need of assistance. An underdeveloped country cannot become developed without assistance prior to a disaster occurring. Foundations such as the United Nations, the Red Cross, OXFAM, and non-governmental organizations need to provide assistance and the resources needed to help all underdeveloped countries like Somalia to aid them in developing into a more productive and secure country.
Funding can lead to proper irrigation systems for crops and reserve water supplies to grow strong healthy crops and keep livestock watered and fed. These investments can lead to a more economically advanced country and help save the lives of millions.
By helping the people of Somalia build back a better community that is stronger and more resilient to disasters, the country can then begin to develop into a safer more profitable habitat. Medicinal interventions can be brought in to treat and help save the lives of those who need it and the population can begin to grow once again.
