  • Laertes tells his sister, Ophelia to always call him and tell him what's going on because he is going away to France.
  • "Yet here, Laertes? Aboard, aboard, for shame!" (p.21 lines 54-56)
  • Laertes is telling his sister about how Hamlet's love is fake, he'll trick her, and that she should be careful.

  • Polonius, the father of Laertes and Ophelia, walks in and is surprised to still see Laertes still hasn't left to go to France.
  • Polonius is advising Laertes on how to act in France. Polonius told Laertes not to borrow money, listen more than talk, don't pick a fight, dress classy but don't spend all you're money. The most important thing he had said was to be true to himself above all circumstances.
  • Polonius is curious to find out about what Laertes had told Opehila before he left.
