  • RESOLUTION

  • Things finally start turning up for Elie when he's freed. He goes to the hospital after he's freed because he had food poisoning since he only ate soup for many years of his life and he wasn't getting proper nutrients.
  • Three days after the liberation of Buchenwald, I became very ill: some form of food poisoning. I was transferred to a hospital and spent two weeks between life and death.
  • Elie, for the first time in years after having to spend two weeks between life and death, sees himself in the mirror and all he can see is a corpse looking back at him and how the look in his eyes never left him.
  • From the depths of the mirror, a corpse was contemplating me. The look in his eyes as he gazed at me never left me.
