  • Banquo and his son Fleance walk in the torch-lit hall of Macbeth’s castle.
  • Macbeth has a vision of a dagger floating in the air before he is about to kill king Duncan
  • Macbeth emerges, his hands covered in blood, and says that the deed is done. 
  • With a cry of “O horror, horror, horror!” Macduff comes running from the room, shouting that the king has been murdered 
  • macbeth kills the servants and blames them for the death of King Duncan
  • acduff returns to his home at Fife, and Ross departs for Scone to see the new king’s coronation.
