  • The French Revolution
  • Trying to start neutral...
  • Jay's Treaty
  • The Americans were contemplating on helping France. What held them back was how they shouldn't join another war. They should help them though because in their hour of need, the French was right there.
  • Washington's Cabinet Devides
  • We should sign the Neutrality Proclamation!
  • The americans wanted to continue trading with both Britain and France but they were at war with each other. They both seized american ships that were headed towards the opposite ports. Not wanting to start a new war, Washington sent John Jay to go negotiate with Britain.
  • National Debt Problems
  • Britain was called out for seizing the american ships and were ordered to fix them. They fixed them but wanted their old debts to be payed back by the Americans.
  • Washington's Farewell Address
  • Jefferson and Hamilton had different views on everything. When it to the point where Washington wanted to get the Neutrality Proclamation signed, Jefferson left his cabinet.
  • I don't agree with your ways. I quit!
  • When America first started out, they were in desperate need of money. It continued to get worst. They are having financial problems and can't seem to be able to paty other countries.
  • In this lettter, Washington basically told how he was not going to run again for president in the upcoming election.
