I grew up in a small town in PA where I was involved in all the sports, school activities and social options. I was selected for a biodiversity camp where I realized my town was not normal.
I went to college where I started volunteering with Amnesty International, studying global domestic violence issues and racial inequities in health and was inspired by many teachers and classmates.
After landing 'my dream job' at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a fellow, I met people from all over the country working on racial inequities and was assigned the lead position for the City of Baltimore. I found my family in a group organizing nationally called Place Matters
From CDC, I wanted to get more involved with non-profits so I joined the YMCA of the USA where I traveled to nearly all 50 states seeing 100s of Ys and their communities organizing towards health equity.
I wanted to get back to working locally and building community, so I went back to Baltimore and worked for the Mayor's Office and on Violence Prevention. I loved my community, but missed my family.
I made the move to CA to be closer to family and landed a job that allowed me to focus on health equity.
