Storyboard Text

  • Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert light energy to produce glucose--their food--with carbon dioxide and water while releasing oxygen.
  • H2O (water)
  • Sunlight
  • CO2
  • O2
  • The chlorophyll specifically--located in the chloroplast--captures the sunlight for the production of creation of glucose for light dependent reactions and releases oxygen.
  • Plants are able to make glucose without light energy. In light independent reactions, the ATP and NADPH produced from the light dependent reactions fuel the light independent ones.
  • The chemical formula that represents the process is 6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy = C6H12O6 + 6O2
  • Happy Photosynthesis!
