  • Tariff of Abomination 1828
  • Jackson 1st Election 1828
  • John Quincy Adams was getting votes from people he knew and if they did that then they would get a job in office (kitchen cabinet).
  • South Carolina Nullification 1828
  • When the tariff of abomination was passed it harmed the south by giving it higher tariffs on raw materials and it helped the north because they got lower tariffs on manufactured goods.
  • Worcester v.s Georgia 1832
  • Jackson and Adams were running for president and Jackson had the most electoral votes and the the House of Rep. voted Adams becomes president and adams is accused of corrupt Bargain.
  • Trail of Tears 1836
  • south carolina tried to void the tariff and threatened to secede but then Henry Clay proposed a compromise that said that south carolina could have a reduction on tariffs in 10 years and then they backed down.
  • a missionary sued for being arrested for living with the indians then georgia passed a law that said that white men could not live with the indians they thought that they were convincing them to not move.
  • the cherokee moved in the fall federal troops moved 16000 cherokee to relocate 1/4th of them died of starvation,exposure, and fever.
