Top Three Intelligences
My top 3 intelligences are: Interpersonal- 93% Bodily/Kinesthetic- 87% Intrapersonal- 85%
The Multiple Intelligences theory was first theorized by Dr. Howard Gardner in 1983. Upon realizing that the traditional method of determining intelligence—IQ tests—was too restricting and based of menial problem solving skills, Gardner decided to widen the scope of what we consider to be intelligence. We all learn in very different and distinctive ways, and require a non-restrictive, diverse method of assessing our intelligence.
Why did the picture go to jail? Because it was framed!
There are eight different types of intelligence all together. Visual/Spacial, Verbal/Linguistic, Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, Bodily/Kinesthetic, Musical, and Naturalist. Everyone falls on a spectrum and has different aspects of each intelligence, however there tends to be three dominant intelligences for everyone. I will be analyzing my three most dominant intelligences and how they play a large role in the way I learn and interact with my environment.
I was not surprised to see this as one of my top 3 intelligences. I already use kinesthetic studying techniques; I like to make physical copies of anything I am trying to learn. I also work out and take care of my health
Once I completed the Multiple Intelligences Quiz, my results were; Interpersonal-93%- Bodily/Kinesthetic-87%- Intrapersonal-85%. I can use these results to assist me in finding occupations that I am best suited for and help me find different ways to study and learn new things. These intelligences are my strengths, and I can now use them to my advantage to help me succeed in the future. I will implement this knowledge into my everyday life at school, home, and at work.
Gosh, there are so many people... I almost feel nervous
Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to understand, interact, and communicate comfortably with others. My interpersonal intelligence corresponds to my ability to empathize and understand people’s situations and their feelings very easily. This applies to my day to day life because I can understand what people are going through, and the problems that they are facing. People with high interpersonal intelligence are natural leaders and have great communication skills.
I use this intelligence throughout my day to day life, by helping my friends overcome issues they are dealing with and being empathetic to their situations. This could be getting a poor mark on a test, or anything personal. I can always offer support and comfort to people.
I don't get it :/
Kinesthetic intelligence is probably the trait I use most throughout my everyday life. I enjoy being outside, physically active, and I learn better by being able hold and feel whatever I need to study. For example, I often work out as a way to stay healthy and to clear my head and deal with stress, it is often therapeutic for me. I also do better in classes that involve more hands on assessments such as projects and summatives rather than tests and exams.
Tired already? I'm just getting started!
While interpersonal intelligence deals with my relationships with other people, Intrapersonal intelligence is the capacity to understand myself. I am self motivated and my goals are very clear to me. I use this understanding of myself to determine my priorities and determine how much to dedicate myself to different aspects of my life, such as a certain course, my social life, and hobbies. Due to my intrapersonal intelligence, I am self-motivated and very happy with who I am.
This is most likely my most important intelligence, despite it not being the most dominant. I am able to motivate myself to finish assignments well before they are due, extra curricular activities, and go the extra mile for things I am passionate about.
