  • When Lennie is asked questions by the boss, he can't respond for himself so the boss asks why, George stands up for his friend and the boss says how he never saw someone take so much trouble for their friend.
  • George
  • He may not be so bright, but he can sure work and take orders.
  • What is your friend Lennie over there not bright enough to answer for himself?
  • Boss
  • Lennie
  • When George and Lennie are at the fire, they are discussing their dream and how they are there for each other, this shows how their dream can hold them together.
  • Yeah! I know why! Because I got you, and you got me, and nobody can do anything about that.
  • We ain't like other migrant workers, you know why?!
  • Slim is introduced to George and Lennie for the first time at the bunkhouse. He sees that they have a real connection and that they are willing to take things for each other. He doesn't really understand friendship because migrant workers don't usually have friends.

  • It ain't weird, two friends should always stick together and take things for eachother.
  • George
  • I have just never seen two guys who string along so well, It's kinda weird.
