Storyboard Text

  • Agreed! Agreed! Agreed!
  • I believe we as a country should have some what of a document that state our rights
  • No!  Yes! Yes!
  • Do we believe that people have the right to own slaves?
  • After all the debating on the rights we will send it to Maryland to be ratified.
  • The date of which the first talk of the Articles of Confederation was in July of 1776.
  • The ratification of the Article of Confederation.
  • The Articles of Confederation was created on November 15, 1777 and took lots of debating to figure out what was to be put into this pre-constitution looking document.
  • The more I think about this Article of Confederation the more I like it.
  • As do I. I just wish we had more of a say.
  • Also on November 15, 1777 the Articles of Confederation was sent out to the states to be ratified which means just to be signed.
  • I say we listen to the people and make a Constitution.
  • Finally after 4 years of trying to get the Articles of Confederation ratified it was finally signed by delegates from all 13 states finally being signed last in Maryland.
  • Although it took 4 years to get the Articles of Confederation signed it was not very popular. This was seen by the public and after seeing that the government was weak towards the closing years of the revolution they demanded a new document to represent what the people believed what was right for this country.
  • In later years this lead to the making of the great Constitution which would give people there rights and gave power to three branches of government with one at the helm which to all of us is known as the President.
