Storyboard Text

  • At first there was nothing. Then two children were born, Night and Erebus. From darkness and from death, Love was born. Love created Light. With the light and children coming it was only suspected that the earth would appear next.
  • Exposition
  • The Greeks made Heaven out to be a very poor father. He hated things with a hundred hands and fifty heads, even though they were his sons. He imprisoned all of them in a secret place inside the earth, right after they were born. The only smart one was Titan Cronus, who waited for the right time to attack his father, and wounded him terribly.
  • Conflict
  • Titan Cronus then became the ruler, but was also overthrown by his son Zeus. Cronus had learned that one of his children was destined to some day dethrone him, so he decided to swallow and eat all of his children as soon as they were born. Zeus, however escaped Cronus by a fake baby passed off by his mother Rhea.
  • Rising Action
  • Zeus was not yet finished. He was challenged many times while he was ruler. The most difficult challenge occurred when Earth gave birth to her most frightful offspring. He was Typhon, who was a monster with a hundred heads, who rose up against the gods. Zeus now had thunder and lightning and used them to strike Typhon down. One last attempt was made to try and take down Zeus. The giants rebelled, but this time the gods were very strong and helped take the giants down with Zeus.
  • Climax
  • It was now time for mankind to be created. One story states that it was delegated by the gods to Prometheus. Before making man he gave all the animals the best gifts. He was sorry and asked for help, and then changed the way of creation, by making mankind superior. He made them walk upright and then went into heaven and lit a torch, and brought down fire, a protection to mankind. According to another story the gods created mankind and made them in five stages. The five stages were in this order: the golden race, the silver race, the brass race, the race of godlike heroes who fought glorious wars and went on great adventures, and finally the race which is on earth: the iron race. These creation stories, have only one thing in common, only men, no women.
  • Falling Action
  • Zeus then punished mankind by giving them women. He also decided to punish the human race by flooding the earth. Only two people survived, a man, Deucalion, and a women, Pyrrha. They were called the stone people, and they were a hard, enduring race, expected to save the earth from the desolation left by the flood.
