  • Having pills and house hold chemicals out in the open is very dangerous for children.
  • Nearly 5,000 people die by accidentally ingesting poison each year.
  • About 60,000 young children end up in emergency rooms each year because of getting into medicine without supervision 
  • Keep all medicines out of reach and put away from children.
  • Across all ages, there were 660 poison exposures reported per 100,000 population. The highest incidence occurred in 1 and 2 year olds.
  • Keep all chemicals away from children. Use cabinet locks to better help secure them.
