- How dare you insult the gods, you little selfish girl!
- I am the best and if Athene were to come down, she could never beat me.
- There once was a girl named Arachne she lived in Greece and made magnificent weaving.
- I accept your challenge!
- Villagers came to watch Arachne’s magnificent weaving skills. Arachne continued to grow more famous for her weaving making her boastful and egotistical.
- Arachne met an old lady and insulted her and the goddess Athene.
- The old women reveals herself to be Athene and accepts Arachne’s weaving competition.
- Arachne weaves a scene that insults the gods, angering Athene. Athene destroys Arachne’s weaving out of anger.
- Athene turn Arachne into a spider so that she can weave for the rest of her life.
