Storyboard Text

  • King Eurystheus told Hercules to get the cattle of Geryon as his tenth labor.
  • While Hercules was going through the Libyan Desert, he got so hot that he shot Helios, the Sun. In admiration of his courage, Helios let Hercules borrow his chariot.
  • When he reached Erytheia, he was confronted by Orthrus, Cerberus' brother, and Eurytion, the herdsman. Hercules killed them both with his olive-wood club.
  • Geryon heard the commotion, so he came with all of his armor on. Hercules shot him in the head with an arrow that had the venomous blood of the Lernaean Hydra.
  • On his way back with the cattle, goddess Hera was trying to annoy Hercules. She sent a gadfly to bite the cattle and scatter them. It took him a year to get them all back.
  • After Hercules made it back to the king, all of the cows that were left were sacrificed to Hera.
