After arriving at an island with ships and goats, Odysseus and his twelve men approach a dark cave with a Cyclops living inside. Odysseus and his men entered the cave with their gifts of wine and goat skin to give to him, uninvited.
The Cyclops arrived at the cave and wanted to see the mens ship, but when he finds out it is wrecked and becomes angry, he then smashes some of Odysseus's men's heads together, tears them apart, and then eats them.
Odysseus cut off a piece of wood and sharpened it, and then chose five men to help stab the Cyclops in the eye while he is sleeping.
Odysseus gives the Cyclops all of the wine to get him drunk, telling him that his name is "Nobody." Then, the Cyclops falls asleep and with the help of his men, he took the sharp wood and stabbed the Cyclops's eye, causing him to shriek.
Odysseus stole three rams from the Cyclops to escape, one huge for himself, and escaped the cave with the rest of his men when dawn came, avoiding being eaten.
After escaping back on to his ship, Odysseus begins taunting the Cyclops twice and reveals his name, sayig that all of th egods know him. The Cyclops tries to throw rocks at him each time he is taunted.
