  • This scene shows Scrooge talking to the ghost of Christmas present about what he is sprinkling upon peoples food, and in this conversation the ghost says that he sprinkles it most upon poor people's food because they need it most, which symbolizes that the poor should be helped, more than others.

  • Symbolism
  • This scene shows Scrooge battling against himself in his head whether or not he really saw Marley, In the scene Scrooge can decide if it was real or not, and he has an internal conflict.
  • I couldn't have seen Marley... hes dead! But i felt him... no i did see him! But i couldn't have... It was just a dream... but i went asleep afterwards... Was it a dream or not!!!

  • Scrooge is asked to donate money to a foundation that helps the poor om Christmas, and they say that many would rather die than go to jail, and scrooge says good, decrease the population.

  • "Spirit! show me no more! Conduct me home. Why do you delight to torture me?"
  • Scrooge is watching as he makes a terrible decision, and changing, as he breaks up with belle. While watching this, scrooge starts to regret it, showing the theme, regret.

  • While Scrooge and the ghost are watching the party, the ghost says that it is not a big deal to be so joyful about, when scrooge says that it does not need to cost a lot to make people happy, symbolizing that he is changing to a nicer person
  • "Small!"
  • "Why! Is it not! He has spent but a few pounds of your mortal money: three or four perhaps. Is that so much that he deserves this praise?"
  • "A small matter to make these silly folks so full of gratitude."
  • Symbolism
  • Scrooge is joined by the ghost of Christmas present, and as he knows he will be teaching him, he asks to profit from it, or let him learn from it. This is symbolizing that Scrooge has changed, and now wants the help.

  • "Conduct me where yo will. I went forth last night on compulsion, and i learned a lesson which is working now. Tonight if you have aught to teach me, let me profit by it."
