Storyboard Text

  • Speculation
  • I can't stop looking at my ring, honey! But now we have to get serious and find a venue for our reception.
  • You go it, babe. Let's get that done as smoothly as possible.
  • Criteria
  •
  • This isn't as smooth as I thought...
  • Ok Marcus, what season do we want? What date? Your mother's August birthday maybe? 5pm? How many guests are we inviting, and who?! What's our vibe? What style do you want? Did you get all that?!
  •
  •
  • Budgeting
  • That's all?! We need to come up with a budget!
  • That's what we're here to do, honey!
  • So it looks like you have $38,978 in your savings...
  • The first step to any user experience is their decision to start a process. Marcus and his soon-to-be-wife, Amy, are engaged and have decided to start the process of finding a venue that fits their preferences.
  • Research
  • Deciding what criteria you want to have in order to match a venue to all your preferences is a good second step. By deciding the date, general location, number of guests, and style is a good starting point to have when doing research on available venues.
  • Moment of Truth
  • Calculating how much money a couple has put aside for the reception, and then deciding how much they are willing to spend on their venue is an important step. There will be venues that are out of their budget but fit their style, and venues that fit their budget but don't fit their criteria. The key is to finding a balance between budget and what they want. The couple must first come up with a distinct budget to spend on a venue.
  • Decision Point
  • I really like the style of the Halton, but the waterfront at the Legacy would be great for photos. And, their price was in our range.
  • Using Pinterest, wedding magazines, online reviews of venues, doing research to find what type of venue fits the couple's preferences. More research to see what is within a certain travel distance, has a big or small enough space, has the vibe they are looking for will be benficial.
  • Venues are pricey, pictures are deceiving and vibes really do mean something! If the research the couple does is thorough, the visits to each venue will be beneficial, but might make choosing one a bit harder. The key to a frictionless decision is doing good research.
  • Here at the Halton Hotel we offer everything you'll need including world-class servers and bartenders, top-notch food and everything else you'll need for only $29,900!
  • Marcus and Amy combined the knowledge from their research with their budget and their own preferences to come to a final decision.  Once they have decided their venue, and know that it is available, they can go ahead and put a deposit down to hold their booking. Next, the dress!
  • I agree, Marcus. I think we should go with the Legacy Hall for the reception. They fit our criteria best. I'll call them after our walk.
