Storyboard Text

  • July 4, 1775 the declaration came about
  • I Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of Independence.
  • He’s kept armies here in peacetime without ourconsent.
  • Our purpose is to declare that the colonies are forming their own country free from Great Britain.
  • He has refused to let us have our own courts.
  • We have had taxes imposed on us without any of the colonists consent. We do NOT like this
  •  He took away our charters and changed our form of Government.
  •  He’s attacked our coasts, burned our towns, and killed our people.
  • Our trade got cut off from all parts of the world and we think this is unfair.
  • American citizens, taken prisoner at sea, have been forced to fight against us.
  • In support of this declaration we pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.
  • We are now free and can fight who we want without anyone telling us!!
