  • People have rights

  • First Bull Run
  • Battle of Hampton
  • The American economy was developing very fast, and gained a large territory in the west and established new states. The North of U.S. wants free states, but south wants slavery. Finally, aroused the indignation of the northern people.
  • Gettysburg
  • First major land battle, It happened near by Manassas, Virginia. Jackson earned his name "Stonewall" in this battle. Union troops defeat Southern troops.
  • Appomattox
  • Chancellorsville Lee
  • First battle between navy. Union lost several wooden ships by attacking from the Merrimac. After fighting with wooden ships, people knows that it's time for iron ships to took place. 
  • Reconstruction
  • This was the bloodiest battle of the civil war. Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville Lee fought with Union lines, but there is no way to break the Union lines. Lee retreat and people knows, Lee is losing the war. So this battle was known as the turning point during the war.
  • War end with Union won. General Lee surrounded to Grant. On April 9th.  Two commander met at Appomattox and agreed on the surrender terms.
  • I surrender!
  • Goals of reconstruction are rebuild southern economy, and allow the southern states come back into the Union, which become a united nation. Also, to give freedom to the slaves, including education, land, and others.
