  • I can't believe my car broke down! Now I will have to walk all the way to school! And I have a very important lecture session for pre-Calculus.
  • Setting: On the way to her job at ISG-Dammam
  • My car broke down! No taxi was found for me to take either! And I have a lecture session for Pre-Calculus! I don't know what to do Mr. Ryan.
  • Oh my god! Mrs. Kennedy what are you doing here? Is everything okay? You have those sad looks!
  • Setting: On the way to her job at ISG-Dammam
  • Mr. Ryan, I already feel very exhausted and I don't think I will be able to make it to school. May you please deliver the students what I am about to tell you about how functions are all around us.
  • I would be more than pleased to help Mrs. Kennedy!

  • First, you have to know that a function is a rule. We use the letter f to represent a rule that states "f" is the rule "square the number".  For example, f(2)=22=4

  • And if they have been asked to "evaluate f(3), f(-2), and f(2)" Then, the values of 'f' are found by substituting for x in the formula f(x)=x2+4. After, they replace x by 3, -2, and 2. They will have to find the domain and range of 'f'.
