Holes to Success (Sherry Lampkin)
This storyboard does not have a description.
Stanley had to wake up very early in the morning to dig and thought it would be impossible he wanted to give up already. He was also very tired from the lack of sleep. All poor Stanley could think was how am I going to survive.
Stanley could not get the shovel into the dirt and didn't feel very confident and was tired on top of it all. Stanley already felt like giving up even though he has just started.
Stanley felt a boost of confidence as he got his first scoop of dirt and he thought to himself that this wasn't going to be so bad after all. In the text it says "The shovel sank a few inches into the packed earth. He smiled."
Stanley was tired of digging and tired he was thinking about how much more he had to dig and just wanted to be done and give up. Our text evidence is "Five feet would be awfully deep to dig".
Stanley was still thinking about giving up when he got really dizzy from lack of water. In the text it says "As he reached down to ... steady himself".
Despite how dizzy or how much Stanley wanted to give up he didn't and kept on digging. This teaches the lesson of never giving up because you see where he struggles but keeps going. That is how my storyboard shows the lesson lesson of never giving up.
