  • Anahí Giovanna Puente Portilla was born on May 14, 1983 in Mexico City, Mexico. Her parents are Enrique Puente, a Spanish father, and Marichelo Partilla, a Mexican mother. She has an older sister, Diana Puente. She is a Mexican actress and singer and has sung in various languages apart from her native Spanish, including English, Italian and Portuguese.

  • Anahí began her acting career at the tender age of 2 on a Mexican television program called "Chiquilladas." She then starred in numerous films, including "Nacidos para Morir" and "Había Una Vez Una Estrella," with the later earning her an Ariel Award for best Child Actress in 1989. She then went on to star in several telenovelas. In 2001, she appeared in super hit teen soap opera "Primer Amor" casted as the fourteen year old Jovanna Luna. This was one of the highest rated in its time slot during its run.

  • During the filming of Primer Amor, Anahí battled a serious eating disorder, anorexia. She weighed approximately 75 pounds at her lowest weight. She spent time in five different treatment centers and visited doctors and psychologists across the country. One day after returning from a family vacation, she began to feel faint, and was rushed to a hospital, where her heart stopped for eight seconds. She has since recovered and become a vocal spokesperson against eating disorders in Mexico.

  • She starred in Rebelde in 2004, a Mexican remake of the hit Argentine telenovela, Rebelde Way. The series is set at the Elite Way School, a prestigious private boarding high school in Mexico City with a major plot line revolving around a group of students forming a pop band. It was an international hit and had over 440 episodes, airing from 2004 to 2006. This launched her career and led to her being a part of RBD, the band that has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.

  • In April 2009, Anahí launched an official website and Twitter page announcing her first solo album since RBD's split. She debuted her first solo single since RBD, "Mi Delirio", at the 2009 Premios Juventud in Miami, Florida. It has sold 3 million albums since then and has been certified Gold in Brazil, Anahí becoming the second Mexican artist, after Thalía, who was certified Gold in that country. Her next single was Alergico in 2010 and the next year, she collaborated with Chavez for Libertad. The same year she released Dividida and was also invited by prodigious singer-star JUuan Gabriel to feature in Con Tu Amor. Anahi released Absurda in 2012 & her comeback single titled Rumba was released in 2015
  • In April 2012, Anahí began dating the governor of Chiapas, Manuel Velasco Coello. The two met through a mutual friend. They became engaged in October 2014 and married on April 25, 2015 in a private religious ceremony held in San Cristóbal de las Casas. On September 11, 2016, she announced that they were expecting their first child together. Their son Manuel was born on January 17, 2017.
