  • The legislative branch is made up of two houses of congress the senate and the house of representatives. The most important duty of the legislative branch is to make laws. Laws are written and discussed and voted on in congress.
  • Full faith and credit
  • The executive branch. From the president, to the vice president, to the cabinet learn more about the executive branch of the government of the united states. The power of the executive branch is vested in the president of the united states, who also acts as head of state and commander in cheif of the armed forces.
  • Amending the constitution
  • The judicial branch interprets the meaning of laws, applies laws to individual cases, and decides if laws violate the constitution. The judicial branch is comprised of the supreme court and other federal courts.
  • Federalism
  • Addresses the duties that states within the united stated have to respect the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other states.
  • Altering the constitution consists of proposing an amendment or amendments and subsequent ratification. Amendments may be proposed either by the congress with two thirds vote in both the house of representatives and the senate or by a convention of states called for by two thirds of the state legislatures.
  • Refers to the mixed or compound mode of government combing a general government with regional in a single political systems .
