  • My students will be able to complete a half marathon.
  • Construct Understanding
  • If I expect my students to complete a half marathon, they will need to know about the registration process, resources and motivational apps, pacing, breathing techniques, foot wear and gear, nutrition and feuling the body before during and after the race.
  • Essential Questions
  • How do you know when you are prepared to run a half marathon? How do you know if you are successful at completing the half marathon (not just participating)?
  • End Result After Unit
  • Students will evaluate whether they participated or successfully completed the half marathon.
  • Performance Task and Other Evidence
  • Daily Running Journal of Gradually increasing runs, nutrition, and evidence of equipment, gear, and resources acquired and used. Completion of a 5k and a 10k.
