  • The city relied on the nearby Indus River to grow help them grow crops and sow the hard soil
  • The land was located in part of the Indus Valley
  • Mohenjo-Daro was a thriving city about 4500 years ago
  • Introduction
  • Most house didn't have windows but instead, holes in the roof so they could keep cool in the hot sunlight but still be able to see
  • The inhabitants of Mohenjo-Daro built their homes out of mud bricks
  • What made these bricks different was that they hardened them with a fire instead of sin which made them stronger

  • Instead of pipes, the villagers dug holes under their toilets and their showers that connected to other holes that ran throughout the whole city
  • A shower in the village was just you pouring a jar of water over your head while standing in a 'shower tray'
  • Mohenjo-Daro made their toilets out of the same mud blocks as they made everything because of their limited resources

  • People of the village labeled their goods with clay tablets engraved with different symbols
