Storyboard Text

  • Total war was creating stressors on everyday people around the world, but Russia seemed to face it the most. After losing 7 million men in battle to being one of the least industrialized country in Europe, many burdens began to fall on the people making them angry, frustrated and rebellious causing the Revolt of 1917 to begin.
  • After Nicholas II realized that he could not repress his subjects, he created the Darma to please and calm the rioters by giving them a constitutional and representative government.
  • A small group of politicians from Darma banded together to eat the Provisional Government, hoping to strive for a way to approach the war successfully, but were continually countered by the Soviets.
  • Meanwhile, after being smuggled in by the Germans, V.I. Lenin, started reviving the Bolshevik movement by speaking and gaining followers, scaring many people and countries of his words.
  • This caused the country to fall to a Bolshevick Revolution and eventually split into a civil war between the Reds (pro-Bolsheviks) and the Whites (everyone else including the united states).
  • The Bolsheviks (Reds) came out on top, winning the civil war. After changing their name to Communists and setting up a new military, Communist Russia pulled themselves from World War I frustrating the allies.
