  • Great Matt! Just researching about how arsenic was first found.
  • How are you doing today John?
  • So far what I know about the element is, the atomic number is 33 and that arsenic compounds were first mined by the early Chinese, Greek, and Egyptian civilizations.
  • Well yes it's compounds were first mined but the arsenic itself was first identified by Albertus Magnus, a German alchemist, in 1250. Also the name arsenic comes from the Persian word zarnikh meaning yellow orpiment.
  • Arsenic is a well-known poison which is used as a doping agent in semiconductors for solid-state devices.
  • This means that it is used as an altering substance that can conduct electricity between electronics.
  • One of the most important and common uses of arsenic is the preservation of wood.
  • Well John good talk! Hope you feel you learned more about the element Arsenic!
  • I did learn a lot thanks Matt!
