Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • The Boller family lives in an apartment in Chicago Illinois. The family consists of Carol (mom), Jenna (daughter), and Faith (daughter). Carol is an ER nurse and Jenna works at a Gladstone Shoe Store.
  • Conflict
  • Jenna and Faith's father is an awful drunk that refuses to quit because "he has it under control." He reappears every 2 years to "reconnect" but instead he just embarrasses Jenna at her work and cause Jenna's boss to become upset.
  • Rising Action
  • Jenna and Mrs. Gladstone set off to Dallas Texas after Jenna got permission from her mom to go. The beginning of the ride was very awkward but as time went on Jenna and Mrs. Gladstone formed an odd bond. Soon the trip wasn't just about the money.
  • Climax
  • The whole trip was about Mrs. Gladstone losing her business to her son, but when the stock meeting day finally came up Jenna wasn't having it. She got in front of all those stockers and stated that Mrs. Gladstone sells quality shoes and knows what she is doing. After Jenna's speech everyone cheered and the top man said Mrs. Gladstone can stay and teach him all she knows about selling quality shoes at good prices.
  • Falling Action
  • After the meeting Jenna and Mrs. Gladstone were quite sad because that meant they had to leave the beautiful, scenic, Dallas Texas. Jenna really bonded with a man named Harry Bender but sadly he died while she was there. Jenna will however forever remember the impact he had on her and Mrs. Gladstone. Jenna was excited to see her family of course.
  • Resolution
  • In the end, Mrs. Gladstone asked Jenna to always be her driver and Jenna agreed but still worked at the shoe store. Mrs. Gladstone gave Jenna her paycheck and Jenna finally got her dream car. Of course it is red because that was the color of all of her dad's cars. Speaking of, Jenna and her father's relationship never did end up improving.
