High school students have lessons on Saturdays

Storyboard Text

  • I hate you! It's not fair! Why can't I...
  • Do you ever look at your child and wonder if you're doing a good job in raising them?
  • What did I do to make my own daughter like this? Where did I go wrong??
  • Go away, you don't understand, you never will! I hate you! Go Away!!
  • Don't you feel the separation? You can keep reaching and reaching to them, but no matter what, you're losing them...
  • Sweetie, let us in! We're your parents! We love you... Let us in!
  • Who cares about my family?
  • School doesn't matter
  • I don't care about my future
  • .... you're losing them to technology
  • I won't do my homework
  • We began this first slide with a teenager shouting at her parents, while a thought bubble appears from the mum's head, as shown. This scene needs to be as relatable as possible to the target market, the parents, so the scene is set in a normal looking living room. As the girl's complaints drift off, it is then replaced by a voice over narration. The voice over narration's text is shown in the textbox on the bottom right hand side.
  • OCEAN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL
  • RIGHT PATH
  • This second scene shows that even when the parents and teenager are in the same room, there is a line that completely separates them. In the middle of the line is a heart that is being crossed out, showing that the parents and daughter relationship is declining. The teenager is yet again shouting and pushing away her parents, while her parents are reaching for her. However, because of the split, the parents cannot reach her; they could only plead and beg their daughter, but with no avail.
  • OCEAN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL
  • Look around, all the other parents are doing it. Don't be a coward and take the leap of true parenthood...
  • The narration drifts off after saying the text on the bottom right hand corner. This scene is like a fantasy where it shows the true thoughts and cravings of the teenager. The images show that all the thoughts inside the girl's mind is to do with technology, and the black with white text emphasises how little she cares for what is actually important.
  • Send your high school teenagers to lessons on Saturdays!
  • The scene now shifts to a school: 'Ocean View High School'. To emphasize how 'we' would help, we directed the words 'we will lead your children onto the right path' going inwards towards the school, implying that it is only the school that can help the students get back onto the right path. The text of the voice over narration is shown on the bottom left hand side.
  • Parents, do you want your children to live like this? Trapped and controlled by the internet? YOU must do something to change this and we are here to help.
  • WE WILL LEAD YOUR
  • CHILDREN ONTO THE
  • The background scene is the same as the last one, however the words on the path is erased and in its place is a teacher motioning for the parents to accept, and allow their children to follow the teacher. The teacher first speaks his dialogue, before drifting off into the voice over narration on the bottom left hand corner. Note that where the '...' are, it shows that the narrator and the teacher are drifting off in anticipation for the next slide.
  • Five days a week of school is now not enough. Recess and lunch has become the highlight of it, not the education. Parents, please make the right decision for your children... for their sake...
  • This is the slide where we introduce the topic that we are promoting. Here, the words are framed, and are going inwards towards the words. There are no pictures and the voice over narration says the words, however unlike the other times, the words that the narrator is saying are actually inscribed in the scene.
