Storyboard Text

  • Present day...
  • So class, who can tell me what was Alfred Wegner's theory?
  • I wonder what made Alfred Wegner discover the continental drift theory...
  • Back in the 1950's...
  • I believe that all of the continents used to be connected and that they drifted due to the tectonic plates moving over time!
  • You're crazy! What is this nonsense you're talking about!
  • But it makes sense! You see; South America, Africa, India, Antartica and Australia all connect to form what I call, Pangea.
  • I hypothesise this because traces of the same species of flora and fauna are located in continents that are widely spaced and have vast oceans in-between. for example, fossil evidence of the Triassic land reptile Lystrosaurus are found in Africa, India and Antartica, non coincidentally, all of these continents join up like a jig-saw puzzle.
  • Present day...
  • I know Mr Gollan! Alfred Wegner discovered that all of the continents were connected once and they drifted due to the techtonic plates moving over time.
