  • Sidney Folwell Causes of the Cold War
  • After World War Two, Russia and the U.S. couldn't put their differences aside any longer. Their different political views makes them resent one another.
  • The West was scared Stalin would eventually take over the world with Communism. They feared he would do so by force if needed.
  • The Soviets feared the American's atomic bomb. America wouldn't share the nuclear secrets with them.
  • President Truman disliked Stalin. The Soviets clearly did not like capitalism. 
  • Russia expanded west into Eastern Europe. They then broke election promises they had made previously.
