Character- Jimmy Valentine
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." -The Buddha
Conflict- When Ben Price said he was going to take down Jimmy
Hello and welcome to Charles D. Spencers Shoe Shop.
The setting helped support/reveal the theme because in Elmore, the small girl gets trapped in the supposedly unbreakable safe, and Jimmy gets her out in less than 10 minutes and this signals a character change because he helped to get her out and doesn't steal any money.
Now, when I go to the bank it is for business, not to steal.
He turned his life around and that's what the theme is about.
Jimmy Valentine turned his life around and stopped breaking safes
When he took the name Charles D. Spencer, you could tell he was going to change.
When he goes to Elmore, he gets good business because he doesn't reveal who he actually is
The element that revealed the theme best was the conflict, when he borke the little girl out of the safe.
