In 1642 Charles I is fearful of the thought that parliament is working against him to take all political control and impeach his wife Henrietta Maria. In order to stop them he goes into the House of Commons were he tries to arrest 5 prominent members of parliament but fails.

August 22, 1642- Charles gathers his men in a fight against parliament and begins the English Civil War.
Parliament has gained the support of most of Southern England leaving Charles with very few to support him. In October of 1642 10,000 Cornishmen stood in support of Charles and ran the small number of parliaments local supporters away.
In 1646 after Charles has fought against the Scots for years he finally surrenders. The Scots had him over to the parliamentarians for 400,000 pounds.
During the mid 1648 England underwent another violent war, that one being the Second Civil War. Rebels favored the king while the Scots and English Royals join together but while riding south they are attacked by a troop lead by Oliver Cromwell and defeated.
Jan 30 1649- The Second Civil War continues on when Oliver Cromwell and officers of the New Model Army decide that peace will never be achieved as long as Charles I is still alive. So Charles I is charged with high treason and found guilty. He was executed in public with lead to shock all around England.
