Nyle DiMarco was born Nyle Thompson on May 8th 1989 in Queens NY. He grew up in Frederick, MD.
Nyle went to Maryland School for the Deaf, and then to Gallaudet University where he majored in mathematics.
When he started his acting career, people told him he couldn't be a good actor because he was Deaf., but he proved them wrong.
Nyle went on to win ANTM, and was the first Deaf man to do so, and only the second man in history.
He also won Dancing with the Stars, being the second Deaf person on the show after Marlee Matlin.
Nyle is important to the Deaf community because he brought awareness and attention, as well as proved that Deaf people could do anything hearing people can do, except hear, as well as do well in a very difficult industry such as television and modeling.
