  • They ended up keeping the 3/5 Compromise, where every 5 enslaved people equaled 3 free citizens.
  • 1787, The Constitutional Convention
  • We will come up with a comprimise, and it shall be named the 3/5 Compromise!
  • We want the enslaved people in our areas to count in population!
  • Their enslaved people don't count!
  • Even though our states are small, we should get equal representation!
  • This compromise was known as The Great Compromise
  • Our new government will have 2 houses, one based on population and one equally represented.
  • Our states are bigger, we need more representation than smaller states!
  • We will plan out our government to settle some arguments, there will be 3 branches of government, executive, legislative, and judicial.

  • This plan is known as the Virginia Plan.

  • The Mayflower compact was an agreement that stated that they consented to being ruled in their government.

  • We agree to being ruled, but in our government.
