  • HI Emma
  • Hi Stella
  • So what did you want to do today?
  • Well, I thought since we have been learning about the Earth's layers at school, it would be fun to explore the layers of the Earth.
  • Awesome! Lets go!
  • Our journey has started! Now since we made it through the crust, or the thinnest layer of Earth, we are in the Asthenosphere.
  • The Asthenosphere is the plastic layer of Earth, and is 250km thick.  This is the layer that tectonic plates move on.
  • The Mantle makes up 2/3 of Earth's mass.  The Mantle is 2,900 km thick!
  • Now we're in the Mantle! The thickest layer of the Earth.
  • We flew right through the outer core, also known as the liquid layer of Earth, now we are in the center of the Earth! The Inner Core!
  •   The core is made of mostly iron with small amounts of nickel.
  • Thanks for joining us on our adventure today
