  • James Madison Declares war on the British because he wanted the British to stop seizing american good from foreign country's such as France
  • Battle of Baltimore
  • The Americans went to fort Detroit and tried to take it over multiple times and failed but after 1 year of the British holding the fort they had to abandon and they also had to abandon the frontier of upper Canada
  • Battle Of Stoney Creek
  • The Americans approached York (The capital of Canada at the time) with 2,700 men and easily defeated the outnumbered British with only 750 men
  • The Battle Of Washington
  • The British tried to attack one of America's biggest port cities, Baltimore, and as they were attacking the Americans killed the British commander, commander Robert Ross
  • The British wanted there land back from the Americans in western upper Canada so they attacked at Stoney Creek and eventually Beaver Dams a few weeks later. The British ended up taking back there land and sending Americans out.
  • With Americans outnumbered they fiercely defended Washington, but there lack of men allowed the British to burn Washington and created a road to Washington
