This morning I woke up at 5:00 am and got ready for my day working as a Forensic Psychologist.
I start my day by interviewing a criminal and deciding whether he can be released from jail early. This is hard because he may lie and claim to be better but he could actually just want to get out so he can reoffend.
The next thing I am is an Expert Witness, standing in court and giving reasons why the defendant cannot go to prison. In this case the defendant was not in control of his actions and therefore cannot be held responsible for them.
Now I am researching ways to find out if someone is lying about a mental illness they may have which prevents them form being sentenced and put in prison.
I am now giving a presentation of my findings to my boss and other people who are higher up than me. These findings are very important and could lead to lives being saved.
I finish at 6:00 pm every night and often bring work home with m,e so I can work on more cases.
