Follow Me! And you will have children and a great nation!
Abram was old. He was sad, because he did not have a son, and his wife was too old to bear him one. But one day God called Abram and promised him a nation and children if he left his family and possessions to follow God.
So Abram set off with his wife and his nephew Lot to follow God. But Lot didn't believe, and he decided to go to the fertile but greedy land of Solom.
Abram and Sarai walked on to the dry land of Canaan. Sarai believed God, but since she could not bear a child, she offered her maid Hagar to have the baby instead. Hagar gave birth to a child and called it Ishmael.
God decided to destroy the evil land of Solom, but he warned Abram first. Abram was a nice man so he boldly bargained with God to save his nephew Lot. God agreed, and let Lot escape before destroying the town. For this brave effort, God changed Abrams name to Abraham, and Sarai's to Sarah.
God talked to Abram again and reaffirmed his promise. Soon after, Sarah gave birth to a baby she called Isaac. Both Sarah and Abraham were suprised, but both became extremely faithful to God.
Soon, with her own child, Sarah became jealous of Hagar and Ishmael and sent them away into the desert.
